Reviews and Ratings
While the hotel has a solid reputation and an impressive onsen experience, I was left feeling a bit let down by the overall facility condition and dining quality. The rooms we initially booked were not up to par, but the upgraded room was much better. The staff did their best to provide a welcoming experience, but some details, especially in dining, fell short for me. Prices felt high given the mixed experiences.
The hotel is conveniently located just a short walk from the JR station, making travel easy. The room we stayed in was clean and spacious, with a lovely view of the river. However, the dining experience left something to be desired, with breakfast being mediocre and dinner not meeting our expectations. The onsen facilities were great, and the service throughout our stay was attentive and helpful.
Suimeikan was a lovely find during our stop in Gero, offering a blend of traditional Japanese onsen experiences and modern comforts. The room was cozy, with a fantastic view, but some areas, particularly in the dining experience, could use improvement. The facilities were great, including several onsens and a beautiful lounge, but the breakfast left something to be desired. Overall, it was a good experience, especially for the price, but not without its shortcomings.
Suimeikan was an enjoyable stay overall, located in a beautiful traditional onsen town. The hotel features excellent amenities, and the room was cozy and comfortable. The only downside was the breakfast buffet, which did not meet expectations. The service was outstanding, making the experience quite pleasant despite some minor shortcomings.
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While it has a beautiful old-style charm and is conveniently located near the train station, the rooms showed signs of aging and the onsen experience was less than ideal due to crowding. The dining options were also disappointing as I struggled to secure reservations. Despite these issues, the staff's service was exceptional, making the stay more enjoyable overall.
